THE BRIEF: University project: redesign an existing product using user experience design techniques and develop a user research strategy.
MY ROLE: The report studied an existing lino cutting tool, using literature review and human factors based research methods to understand current design problems, and ultimately create a design proposal for a more universal tool. By carrying out primary research methods and literature review, problem areas were identified. Techniques included generating personas, user scenario mapping, identifying context of use, usability principles, user requirements and usability testing.
THE OUTCOMES: Development of key UX skills and a deep understanding of methodologies used, transferable across digital products.
